1. The first thing you will want to do is make sure you have the most accurate and up to date newsgroup list. To do this select the "Get Newsgroups" option in News Rover and choose the option to get a full list of newsgroups.

2. Now that the group list has been updated locate the news server address in the News Rover navigation panel. Right click on either news-east or news-west and choose the "Subscribe/Unsubscribe Newsgroups" option.

When the Newsgroup subscription control window appears:
A. Type the name of the newsgroup you are looking for.
B. Newsgroups results are displayed in this window.
C. If you don't know the name of the newsgroup you can search for a group by a category. Once you have selected the category you are interested in the groups that match it will display in the results window.
D. Highlight the group you want to subscribe to and choose Subscribe. A red arrow will be placed to the left of the group name to confirm you have successfully subscribed to the group.

4. Once you have subscribed to the groups you want close the Subscription Control window in the previous step. You will directed back to the main News Rover window. Locate the group in the navigation panel and right click it. Choose the option to Download all new message bodies. Once the message bodies have been downloaded the results will display in the message window to the right.
